Honestly, I do not know what kind of skill is making a creative output from sand on a shot glass. Last week, we needed props for our Theology mini-play and I volunteered to design the glass by placing the sand inside. To my surprise, I played with designing the sand in any way that I like by just pouring it over the shot glass. Keeping some proportion and experimenting with the different wave designs.
Finally, it turned out something like this:
